Hannahconda is moving!

I've been extremely inactive on this blog for a while now because school has just completely taken over my life. But I'm in the process of moving all my themes to a new Tumblr-based blog at vaporeon.org. Please follow if you'd like!

For now the themes that are still here are available for download here, but they will soon move to Vaporeon. Once I've done that I'll probably close this blog for good. Blogger just isn't the site that best fits my interests to share my design work. ;_____;

Plans

I'm currently in the process of changing hannahconda.net back from being a blog to a portfolio again. Just bear with me! Soon it will be much easier to download my themes and view my portfolio (in case you would like to commission me for some work - pretty please?). But this will all be happening in the summer. Please stay tuned!

President's day weekend!

Oops. This is long overdue, seeing as President's day weekend was almost a month ago, but it won't hurt to update now, I guess. I went home over the 3-day President's day weekend. It was pretty horrible (and fun) at the same time! We got hit on by random guys at the bus station since Kristie and I got off at the wrong stop. It was pretty embarrassing but fortunately her friends were able to pick us up even though it was near midnight. The next day we did our makeup and headed on over to Cue Pictures, but apparently they had closed a few days before I had gotten back! But we still looked fabulous.

But then we accidentally bought the wrong dye for our hair. I over-bleached mine and my hair started falling out everywhere and Kristie's hair turned slightly orange. Fortunately we were able to fix everything and we're both looking fine again and our hair is relatively healthy. Essentially what I'm trying to say is, we're not bald.

The next day I went to Disneyland.. for the last time! My pass expired a few days after that trip. We saw a bunch of face characters we wanted to take pictures with, but they were all leaving by the time we got there. However, we did get to meet Tiana and Naveen because they were celebrating Mardi Gras that day!

It was also slightly overdue, but I got my birthday button that day, too.

I will be getting a new pass for Disneyland, but instead I can't get the limited edition Dream Drop Distance 3DS. I feel like it'll only be released in Japan anyway, so there's no point due to the region lock. But it's so pretty and I really want it. But I'll be really happy and grateful that I will be going back to Disneyland this year!

Also, I've applied to work for Disneyland during fall quarter of next year. It's a special program called the Disney College Program. I've currently been pended, but I'll find out whether I've been admitted or not by the end of April!

As for more recent news, I saw Studio Ghibli's Secret World of Arrietty. It was alright. Unfortunately one of the main characters, Sean, was far too depressing and there were many unnecessary filler characters that were just placed in the movie to make us feel bad for main character. Arrietty is really cute and she was fantastic though! The ending was a little strange, as well.

And I added a new theme for you all to download. I'm still a little miffed I lost my other pixel art theme I made since I liked it so much, but there's really nothing I can do about it. Anyway, the new theme tagged "simple themes" and you can find it underneath this post or in Resources.

Whelp, finals are in a week and I'll be going home again after that for a whole week. Spring break! Until then, I'll be playing Neopets. I just keep jumping from one game to another.

Birthday!

I was going to upload my last cutesy pink pixel theme, but unfortunately I accidentally deleted the code. And I don't have a screencap of it either. I might recode it later because I really liked it, but blah I have absolutely no motivation whatsoever. But now I have two copies of the same theme that I'm using right now, I'll edit it a bit and upload that later.

Anyway, I had my birthday on the 2nd, and it was super fun. I'm 19 now!

My friends got me this super cute bear. Her name is Coffee and she is really soft. I love super big bears yup. My friends and I also went out to go eat to celebrate my birthday. In short, we had a super swell time.

Also got to see Beauty and the Beast yesterday and that was really great. I really wanted the limited edition 3D Beauty and the Beast glasses though, but I didn't have time to go see it on the opening day. I did see some kid on the bus with them and almost asked to buy it off him, but his mom looked tough. (Source)

I'll probably get the chance to get another pair of 3D glasses when Finding Nemo is released in theatres later this year anyway. But Beauty and the Beast is my absolute favorite Disney princess movie, so it's still rather disappointing.

In almost one week I'll be able to go home again and go to Disneyland for my (belated) birthday! But it'll also be the last time I'm going to Disneyland in a while because my pass is expiring sob.

Back at school

Absolutely a bore. Can't wait to go back home for the holidays again. It's nice to see everyone again, but nothing ever exciting happens here. A bunch of birthdays are coming up within the next few months though, so that's exciting.

I should probably stop playing Maplestory. I think I've rejoined as a side effect of Disneyland withdrawal. But it's just too much fun and I've been getting others to play with me too. Hi, my name is Hannah, and I have an addiction to Disney and Maplestory.

Click to enlarge - the smegas are pretty hilarious.

And since I lost my new cellphone, I'm pretty much broke. Which would be fine, if I weren't so addicted to buying new clothes. I find that the more I wear something, the uglier it gets and then I can't wear it any more. So I buy more stuff. But just look at how adorable this bunny jacket is!

Also, on the bright side, I haven't actually spent money buying NX. So maybe my problem isn't as bad as I think it is. Can't wait to go home for my birthday.. in a month. Blah. And then my Disneyland pass expires. How depressing. And it's going to rain this week. This year isn't starting off as well as I had hoped.

And sorry about the lack of resource updates. I'll probably be making a new theme for myself soon, so my current one will be available for download in the near future.

Happy New Years!

It's just been Disneyland trip after Disneyland trip for me. I guess I might be going too much, but my pass expires in late February, but I'm leaving back for school in three days so I'm trying to make the most of it.

New Years eve at Disneyland was amazing. We had Mickey and Minnie shuffle for us and there was just a huge party going on for five hours straight with loud music and people everywhere. It was really crazy though because it was so crowded. We had to wait about eight hours before hand to get a spot that was relatively close to the castle. Our spot was just slightly off center, but we were still able to see everything. Can't stand all the parents who brought their babies in strollers to the countdown, though. I mean, it's one thing to take up all that extra room with your bulky stroller and another thing to bring your infant to an extremely crowded area with loud music when it is clearly past their bedtime. Ridiculous.

Also, since it was so crowded, I didn't notice that someone took my phone. There was absolutely no way that I dropped it seeing as I was sitting down on some blankets for eight hours, but I must have been careless and left it lying around for a bit when someone took it. Guess I can only learn from this and move on. Got a new phone already and it was expensive as hell.

Also it was incredibly foggy. We could only see the fireworks that were shot up from the front of the castle. We had been hoping to catch both the Christmas special fireworks as well as the New Years ones, but the fog settled in a good half hour before the Christmas fireworks. But the castle was awfully pretty and they still executed the fireworks (even though nobody could see them) so we could watch the castle light up and listen to the music.

We stayed at a hotel that night. Thank god, because it was so foggy I wouldn't have wanted to drive home.

Also went again on Tuesday and bought this fabulous pin. You'd recognize it if you have watched Pixar's UP, my favorite movie of all time. I'm not one for Disney pin collecting because I know if I start, I won't stop and then I'll be out of money. Plus you can only wear most of those pins while you're at the park. But I'd wear the Ellie Badge any time and anywhere just because I love that movie so much.

Going back to school in a few days. This break has been sufficiently long enough, but I'll definitely be sad to start studying and working for school again. It'll be nice to see people again, though.

Goodbye 2011!

This has actually been a pretty good year for me. Usually I look forward to the new year because the current one was horrible, but I'll actually be sad to see 2011 go. Regardless, I'm still happy to welcome 2012. And if the end of the world really does happen, I'll just book it to Disneyland and die in the happiest place on Earth. Speaking of which, I'll be there for the New Years countdown, just like last year. And this year I shouldn't freeze my ass off in the cold because it seems the weather is a lot warmer this year.

I went to Disneyland a few days back. Super fun, though my nose just randomly started bleeding. But I think it's safe to say it's the happiest blood on Earth? Okay, I should probably stop with all that.

After a year's worth of searching (to be exact, 361 days), Disneyland finally restocked the Eeyore pillow pet while I was actually there! So I didn't hesitate and I bought it. He's super soft and I'm happy to welcome him to my Disney stuffed animal collection. I love him to pieces.

Until then, I'll be listening to my new Jack's Mannequin CD. Gotta love Andrew McMahon and all of his work. Arrivederci e buona notte, 2011.

Christmas

I'm rather sad to say that it went awfully. My mom just pretended like she wasn't home all day to avoid wishing me a Merry Christmas. We don't have cable anymore, so she no longer watches TV, nor does she listen to music. Nothing noisy to give me an indication that she was home. When she did finally come upstairs at around dinner time, it was just to get my dog and walk him. But she still said absolutely nothing to me. When I confronted her about it, she just knocked away all of my protests with insulting defense mechanisms, such as accusing me of never doing x or y, even though x and y had nothing to do with the situation at hand. We missed the family Christmas dinner and everything. Yup, this is exactly why I was looking forward to coming home so badly: to spend Christmas alone. On the bright side, I've celebrated Christmastime with my friends before the actual day, so Christmas hasn't been completely ruined for me. It's really just my mother. But it's not the first holiday she's ruined with her emotional roller coasters, so I guess I have a little experience at surviving these things.

It's also a bit disheartening to see on Tumblr all of the selfish Twitter feed screenshots that have been constantly reblogged onto my dashboard. It's always something along the lines of "I hate my parents because I didn't get a iPhone" or "All I got was [large sum] of money instead of a car", etc. It's not about the gifts, but about the giving. But I guess those who don't understand just weren't gifted with insight and empathy to begin with. All they care about is a physical gift they can enjoy for a few months until they break it and get bored with it.

Otherwise, it's just been a mostly quiet week. I have some new books that I'm excited to reread. I already own Lord of the Flies and Of Mice and Men, but they've been heavily annotated and I prefer to read unmarked books. So I took the opportunity of using some of the Christmas sales to get them for cheaper than usual.

And went to celebrate Christmas at Round 1 with Kristie and her friends a few days ago. It was super fun, excluding a bit of high tension that eventually resolved itself. Got myself a new super cute Rilakkuma with an adorable New Years theme to it. Afterwards I slept over at Kristie's and we played Final Fantasy X until my mom could pick me up. Unfortunately, I got sick during all that. I guess things are getting too cold for me. Oops.

Although my Christmas went off pretty badly, I'm positive New Years eve will be nothing but fun. It'll be Disneyland all day with some of my close friends. There we can watch the New Years fireworks. I went last year, and it was really fun. I've booked us a hotel to stay at after the park closes, in which fun and hilarity will probably then ensue.

Until then, I'll just keep rewatching Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's been a while since I've seen this show, and I have all the seasons downloaded anyway. Plus, Legend of Korra is coming out soon, and I'd rather refresh my memory of the first series before watching this one.

Or I'll play more Maplestory. Anything to keep me busy in my room when I don't have plans and to avoid confrontation, that may as well lead to another argument, with my mother until I get to go back to school. And to think I was homesick earlier this year.

Inexcusable messiness

Well, my domain finally transferred over, so this site is now hannahconda.net! Yay. I finished uploading three of my older themes. From now on, I'd rather keep this website to be more of a personal blog and a place to upload my older Tumblr themes for others to enjoy. I'm a little tired of how slow it takes for the Theme Garden to accept and review themes. This blog should make things much easier for me. Unfortunately, since the blog is new, I have to upload and post a bunch of things up at once so I can have separate pages. So it's pretty messy around here, sorry! You can find downloadable content under resources. Tutorials will be coming soon. I will be doing some commissions, as well.

Anyway, I just got my new phone in the mail today. I'm getting used to using it, but I've just grown too accustomed to the brick I've been using for the past two years. My phone is super pretty though, and as soon as it restocks, I will be getting a Rilakkuma case for it.

For the past few days I've been Christmas shopping. Got the "perfect" present (Persona 3 Portable) from my wonderful friend. So I've been rushing to finish my replay of The World Ends With You so I can play this lovely game as soon as I can. I've never heard any negative feedback about P3P, so I'm excited to start playing it.

Definitely loving the Christmas spirit. Everyone seems to be a lot happier and nicer this year especially. More houses on my street have put up their Christmas lights. I almost forgot it was Christmas just next week, honestly. I guess longer winter breaks can do that to you. I am definitely soaking up all of the Christmas sales going on though. Bought myself some new Disney movies to enjoy.

I also got Taxi a new bright pink doggy parka he seems to enjoy. Merry Christmas, Taxi.

It's been a pretty good week minus the fact that I still haven't been to Disneyland at all. I'm definitely feeling the effects of withdrawal now. But I'm pretty sure Disneyland New Years eve and day is going to happen for sure. I am not going back to college empty handed.
